Welcome to our fairy tale! Brom will play the pipe – review of the comic book “Brom XXX” (18+)

Brom is one of the most interesting comic book series currently being created in our country. A combination of urban fantasy with Slavic folklore and an admixture of the so-called crumbs of life and romantic threads comes out perfectly for Unce Odya. The news that before starting work on the third volume of the series, the author plans to create a pornographic spin-off was intriguing to say the least. A side story about the bed vicissitudes of the heroes could easily be put, nomen omen. Unka, however, made sure that the comic was not just a series of hot scenes, but also told a sensible story. Yes, Brom XXX is porn with a storyline, and one with arms and legs, not just tits, pussies, and dicks. Sure, maybe it’s not as extensive a story as in the previous two volumes, but this album is also about two-thirds smaller in volume. However, as it is commonly known, size does not matter, so the latest comic book about the Pomeranian witcher makes up for it with other advantages.

Everything is possible here, the monsters are happy

As I mentioned, the volume “two and a half” is not only a female-male (and male-male and male-monster) dalliance, but also a plot. Its axis is another character straight from the Slavic bestiary – the night nightmare. Brom, as befits a witcher, must use his knowledge of monsters, cunning and flexible language (hehe) to deal with the nightmare that haunts him. Between the subsequent bed scenes, and also during them, we receive quite a lot of dialogues that allow us not only to get to know the nature of the demon, but also to deepen the characteristics of the protagonist and other characters. While relationships between the characters (other than sexual) aren’t all that important in this album, there is some development of their personalities (particularly in Brom’s case).

And at night, the adventure is already hiding in your heads

In Brom XXX, the comic artist also heavily exploits the theme that appeared at the very beginning of the series, namely traveling through dreams. Lucid dreaming is a scripted bull’s-eye, because it gives a lot of room to show off in terms of potential sexual adventures of the characters, while not having to carry any permanent consequences. After all, what happens in dreams stays in dreams. And sometimes on underwear and quilts.

We’ll find it ourselves, us boys and girls

Thanks to this subterfuge, Unka Odya can bring out the wildest fantasies of her characters and present several guest appearances, including one that could prove quite significant for the next volumes. Despite everything, he does not go crazy too much, perhaps for fear of falling into self-parody, or maybe because to maintain a certain coherence of the series, the core of which (hehe 2) is to remain the title Brom. It is his nocturnal adventures that we observe and he is at the center of the action. Therefore, those who were hoping for some spicy female-female episodes, for example with the participation of Bułka or Maria, may be disappointed. On the other hand, yaoi fans (let’s face it, most of them are readers using female pronouns) should be satisfied.

And then I give my word that it will be colorful

The element of this installment of the series that cannot be overlooked is the color. The author put a lot of work into presenting us with an erotic spin-off in its full palette and the effect is really pleasing to the eye. I like the black and white of the first two volumes, but there is nothing to hide, the love games of Brom and the company look much nicer in the color version. No wonder, since Unka devoted so much time and effort to the comic. While working on the volume, she refined her skills and looked for the right aesthetics, so she had to color the initial boards twice so that they would not differ from the later, more refined and consistent ones (you can find a comparison on the artist’s Facebook page). Not surprisingly, when asked if the next volumes will also be in color, he firmly replies that it was only a one-time leap to the side, an interesting experience that he has no intention of repeating.

Pornos read (also) for the plot

Brom XXX is an erotic spin-off packed with everything you need to have fun. Sex in various configurations, presented sensually and aesthetically – it is. Romance with color – ticked off. A sensible plot and gentle character development, without which you can still enjoy the main series – right. And finally, some additional material and fanart. If it could be done better, I don’t know how. I am fully satisfied.
