As expected, CD Projekt RED moved the world with its latest production, though not quite in the way we would have liked. Yes, it is a work that is praised in many respects, but as it happens in life, its failures and mistakes are much louder. In many cases the criticism is well-founded, in part too exaggerated, but there is no doubt that the milk has spilled and it is difficult to grind it away. Considering the brand and the hype surrounding the game, it is not surprising that the first topic in the latest issue of CD-Action is the storm that unfolds on the web after the premiere of the product advertised with the face of Keanu Reeves. On the following pages of the magazine you will also find Cyberpunk 2077’s reviewwho … Hold on. Was this not the case in the previous issue? And yes, but despite the single release date, the currently old-generation console version turns out to be so different from the others that it deserves a separate discussion.

Man does not live by the Cyberpunk alone
Despite two texts devoted to it and another richly related to it, the production from CD Projekt RED did not dominate the latest issue of CD-Action to the same extent as the previous one. The review of the newest addition to World of Warcraft , Shadowlands, was quite pushed here . Just as the Horde and the Alliance have their own view of the world, the text here was written by two people, taking the form of a conversation around the fire of a tauren shaman and a faithful paladin’s light. Although, as I mentioned last time, I really like such an artistic approach to writing reviews, I must warn you that the number of proper names and names from the universe of war craftsmanship can overwhelm less discerned readers.
As befits the first issue of the new year, most of the space was devoted to the Games of the Year 2020 plebiscite. In addition to the title award, a lot of categories related to specific game genres, exclusivity on specific platforms or such elements as multiplayer mode, soundtrack, graphics, script or artistic direction. Of course, there was also room for the title of the game of the year awarded by readers. Without revealing the winners of individual awards, it is worth noting how amazing the gaming market can be. Between such beautiful titles as Ghost of Tsushima , Microsoft Flight Simulator , Ori and the Will of the Wisps , or complex behemoths like Cyberpunk 2077 andThe Last of Us Part II , an inconspicuous cosmonaut jumped out of the ventilation, not only putting the few-year-old Among Us into competition , but also elevating his simple game to a narrow, elite group of titles winning in more than one category. Don’t such moments make you feel emotional?

Of course, the new issue of CD-Action is full of many more reviews. It is enough to mention the highly praised Devil May Cry 5: Special Edition , slightly reminiscent of another Monster Sanctuary title , relaxing Shady Part of Me , Geras 5: Hivebusters or not as successful as the last Half-Life , but another title worthy of VR goggles Medal of Honor: Above and Beyond . We cannot forget about interesting journalism, with the help of which we can look at the film trilogy of The Matrix from a completely different angle, or find out how important and already practically inseparable element of most games the photo mode has become.
Are you curious what game won the plebiscite? Do you want to know how the editors of CD-Action rate the latest titles? Or maybe you are most interested in the little malice in the “Pins” section? If you answered yes to any of the questions, I can only recommend that you read the latest issue of this magazine.
