Familiar and refreshed – a review of the comic book “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs”

Mędrek, Wesołek, Apsik, Gapcio, Gburek, Shy and Śpioszek – do you still remember these heroes? These are the names of the heroes of a German folk tale first written down and published by the Brothers Grimm in 1812. Meanwhile, in bookstores you will find its comic adaptation, recently published by Egmont.

 

For small and large

The comic adaptation of the Brothers Grimm’s story is actually the same story, but very beautifully published – in the form of a comic book. But first about the plot – Snow White is described in the area as extremely beautiful and it is her charm that brings her danger. Jealous of the girl’s charms, the stepmother orders the court hunter to kill the girl. However, the princess escapes into the forest, where she finds shelter in the hut of the seven dwarfs. Unfortunately, the stepmother queen soon discovers that the most beautiful girl around is still alive. So he makes one more attempt to kill the girl – he transforms into an old woman and leaves the castle to meet his stepdaughter in person. The key will be the apple…

History known and loved

Disney series editors . Classic fairy tales strive to reproduce the original text as accurately as possible in their proposal. On the cover we see a beautiful dark-haired girl holding a poisoned (as we remember from the original story) apple in her hands. From the back, the queen stepmother looks at us, moreover, there are also images of the title dwarfs. Seduced by the external charm of the volume, the potential reader will be enchanted again when he opens the comic. Both the character introduction, the story presentation and the Memories expansionthey deserve recognition. The volume is colorful, the characters are visually delightful, and everything has been enriched with an interesting story. Although it is well known (due to numerous editions of the Brothers Grimm’s fairy tales, as well as adaptations of the story), in this form it surprises! And only positively.

Not the first, not the last

The albums released so far in the collection are The Lion King , 101 Dalmatians , Lady and the Tramp , Mulan , Aladdin , The Little Mermaid , and the reviewed Snow White . Meanwhile, Alice in Wonderland is in preparation . Egmont has delighted us many times with the quality of the published proposals, and although I somewhat regret that the collection was not published in hardcover, I am eager to collect individual volumes – which I encourage you, dear readers, to do as well.
