The reviewed proposal is a one-person puzzle game. We play the role of a maneuver on duty, whose task is to position the loaded wagons on the appropriate tracks and send the locomotives to the station on time. An essential feature of the player is cleverness, which will allow you to efficiently rearrange the wagons and guess the idea of the game’s creators. And there were many of them … The author of the game is Prospero Hall, an American game studio (specifically – Forrest-Pruzan Creative, Seattle), the producer is the French publisher Asmodee Group under the license of the mentioned originator, and the distributor is the Polish Rebel. It is also worth noting that the label of the publisher of the best games – Days of Wonder – is on the packaging, which increases the prestige of the title. Another aspect worth paying attention to is translation. Katarzyna Kaszorek did a really good job. Congratulations!
Shunter, trains go on tour!
In a medium-sized box you will find: a plastic marshalling yard (openable – inside you can store all the elements of the game; the compactness also allows you to travel more efficiently with the title), 40 task cards (puzzles!), A help card, 2 locomotives, 5 colored carriages, 2 broken tracks and instruction. There are 4 color-coded difficulty levels to choose from (10 cards for each level – green, blue, red and black).
The player’s task is to move to position the wagons at the marshalling yard, push, attach and detach the wagons, trying to arrange them as shown on the task card. Finally, we count how many moves we have made and check our result. To evaluate our skills, we look at the task card. There are 3 numbers that determine the number of moves needed to solve the puzzle. Maneuvering skills are assessed on the number of movements we make.
Subjectively opinion about the title
Several titles have already been released in the series of single-player logic games, including: Zip City , Shadow Glyphs and now Ticket To Ride: Track Switcher. The main reason why it is worth having the last title is its unique mechanism that stimulates out-of-the-box thinking. During the game, we improve our spatial imagination by planning our actions. Although the first puzzles may seem simple to us, the next levels are not so light and fun. We have to be concentrated to complete tasks in as few moves as possible.
The rules are very simple and the entertainment draws you into long hours. In addition, the title surprised me visually. Get on the train is a cute smart game that will surely be enjoyed by players from the age of 8 (this is the age recommended by the developers). The loaded wagons go on tour. Make them reach their destination safely!
