Riddles, puzzles, secrets …
Diary 29. Awakening presents a challenging challenge for the player. He must discover its secrets alone by solving fifty-six various puzzles. These are imaginative at times, and at times seemingly banal. As it happens, the simplest solution is not always the right one. Although there are also such puzzles, when solving which it makes no sense to combine, because the answer is literally within your reach.
Traces of an alien civilization
Unlike the first part of the Diary , a story is told in Awakening . From time to time, you can find the researcher’s notes. Unfortunately, these clippings did not interest me completely. It was much better in the 1907 Expedition . Not only was the story expanded, but also all the puzzles were directly related to the plot. What’s more, Awakening doesn’t even try to compensate for it: there’s always a puzzle on one side and a QR code on the other. In addition, one challenge is only based on two words placed in the middle of a blank page! In addition, I miss the spectacular puzzles here, such as in the Expedition 1907that would encourage me to spend a dozen or so additional minutes, despite being tired, on the next and yet another puzzle.
A mysterious journal
The workmanship is solid. I like both the texture of the cover and the style of a few sketches, and the font used. All this to some extent builds an atmospheric mood. I did not find any major mistakes. I also like the minimalistic cover design – it has something intriguing about it.
Is it worth knowing the tragic fate of a scientific expedition?
I honestly admit that Dziennik 29. Waking up made me tired. I couldn’t get to the end, and you have to write a review (I’ve worked through over thirty puzzles). I must say that I missed a lot of things that attracted me like a magnet to the 1907 Expedition, even spectacular puzzles and sketches. In addition, there are a few strange puzzles. Sometimes, seeing so little data, I wondered “what the author meant.” The solutions were usually simple, but in some cases it really seemed impossible to me to come up with it. Nevertheless, there were some very interesting puzzles, for example with cubes, Jason’s briefcase, the statue and the maze. For this part, you will have to anoint some pages. I sincerely doubt anyone will want to go back to the puzzles they have already solved. Maybe only after a few years. I appreciate the position, but it has not been able to appeal to me. I highly recommend the 1907 expedition , but I also believe that also Dziennik 29they have their charm and can decently make gray cells active. Interactive book games are a good way to spend a nice few hours, especially when it is impossible to meet and play in a larger group.
