One thing about the series of books is that at some point they will inevitably end.
The manhunt is getting closer
I will not try to describe the plot too extensive to avoid spoilers. Virion along with his wife Niki and the rest of his companions are still running away. It is becoming clear, however, that the avoidance of further threats will soon come to an end. There are more and more enemies, and the fates of many characters begin to merge. Finally, we will also get answers to questions about the young inspired swordsman.
Different perspectives
We observe the action in the final volume of the series again from the perspective of various characters. During the expedition, we see Virion’s deepening relationship with his companions. It is especially worth paying attention to the interaction of the main character with his teacher Horech, in which we can find a lot of humor and life thoughts. Conversations with Niki can provoke reflections on the ways of life. Is it sometimes worth taking the risk and sacrificing your life so far for a journey into the unknown? Or is it better to lead a peaceful but rather boring existence? In turn, the relationship between Taida and Daazy shows how imperfect state apparatuses bending from excess bureaucracy can be. We also observe the events from the perspective of the witch Luna, who in this volume is undergoing a huge metamorphosis. The book does not lack the action and intrigue that bind the previous parts together. However, it cannot be denied that it is mainly based on dialogues. In this case, it is an advantage of the novel, and the fantasy world created by the author becomes a tool to convey to the reader important and worth considering thoughts. The book, however, may turn out to be too “wordy” for some readers.
Summary
The whole Virion series gave me a lot of fun. The ending of all the threads turned out to be obvious but satisfying. Often a smile appeared on my face, and I followed the fate of the heroes with great interest. Virion. The swordsman ends the series about Virion’s young years, in which we observed one of the stages of his journey to becoming the hero known from the Achaean series . At the end of the novel, he is not yet the legendary inspired swordsman. Even though this is the end of the series, I hope the author will return to Virion as there is still a lot to tell and I hope it will be soon.
