Netflix has just announced the creation of another series based on Andrzej Sapkowski’s prose. This time we are dealing with an acting, six-episode miniseries set 1200 years before the events of the Witcher series . The Witcher: Blood Origin will focus on the events that led to the conjunction of the spheres, as well as the emergence of the Continent, monsters and … the first Witcher.
Lauren S. Hissrich, the Showrunner of the main series, is executive produced. Importantly, Andrzej Sapkowski will again act as a creative consultant, although the series will tell about events that the books did not show. The filming set is to be located in Great Britain. It is worth remembering that this is not the only side project accompanying Netflix’s The Witcher . Earlier this year, the anime movie The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf was announced . The production will focus on the fate of young Vesemir. Geralt’s mentor will probably also appear in the second season of The Witcher series .
Lauren Schmidt Hissrich said:
I’m excited to work with Declan and the Netflix crew on The Witcher: Blood Origin. It is an amazing challenge to be able to explore the world of The Witcher created by Andrzej Sapkowski. We look forward to introducing viewers to new heroes and a completely original story that will enrich this incredibly magical universe.
