The showrunner of The Witcher from Netflix, Lauren Hissrich, admitted that she received unfavorable opinions about Yennefer, shown in the second season. Therefore, the plot issues will probably be resolved in the next season.

The Witcher debuted in 2019 and looked promising. Critics and fans alike weren’t thrilled with the first season, but the adaptation drew new audiences that the books and games had not reached before. Most of this success was lost in the second season . Fans of the series criticized the series because it deviated greatly from the source material. Then it was announced that Henry Cavill, who plays the main character Geralt of Rivia, is leaving after the third season. This did not help the growing negative opinion of the television adaptation.

One of the most common complaints about the second season was the character of Yennefer. The writers decided to move away from the source material, and Yennefer may be the greatest example of this. We will not reveal the details, but the sorceress behaves in a way that does not resemble her characters from the books.

Showrunner Lauren Hissrich mentioned viewer reactions.

“How could you do this to these characters?” “They will never be able to forgive her.” Well, it just becomes a story problem for us.

The third season will kick off with the Belleteyn holiday. It is during this festival that we will see how Yennefer puts a lot of effort to make up for her past deeds.

Despite the flurry of criticism, the team behind the show is pretty confident in their ability to work through the massive downfall after last season.
