Fans of the two live-action Scooby-Doo movies have been hoping for years that the series will one day end as a trilogy. That probably won’t happen, at least with the original actors who took part in the first two films. Not only has it been two decades since Scooby-Doo hit the cinemas, but not everyone wants to return to this franchise, based on the experience of making previous films.

Freddie Prinze Jr , who starred in Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed as Freddy, is not eager to see the mysterious gang back on screen. During an interview with TooFab, the actor said he’d rather not make another Scooby-Doo .

It wouldn’t be something I would do. I have zero interest. I mean, it would be difficult. It wouldn’t be for me.

Prince explained.

Prinze went on to explain that most of his problems were with the studio rather than the films or the people he worked with. He even claimed that Scooby-Doo was one of the few times in his career when he felt regret for working on something.

The studio has not been honest with me in any way. I’ve been in two jobs that I regretted doing, and Scooby was one of them .

Prince Jr. he previously told Esquire about his frustrations with the franchise, including being asked to take a reduced pay because the rest of the cast wanted a raise for the second film. He also added that the final version of the first film was not the script he reportedly agreed to.

I will only work with people I love and respect and who love and respect me. I only want to work with people who are looking for opportunities to gain my respect and vice versa.

While he did not enjoy the experience of making the Scooby-Doo films , Prinze said that over the years he had come to appreciate their importance to fans. When he saw that the children were excited about them, he realized that there are a lot of people who have a positive attitude towards these films.
