Especially in the last decade, many adaptations of Stephen King’s stories have caught the attention of horror fans. One of the lesser-known projects is the new version of Children of the Corn , which was filmed in Australia in 2020.
Despite their love of the original story, Australia ‘s Children of the Corn have only had a handful of screenings in different parts of the world. Nevertheless, on the ANVL Entertainment website, you can see that the adaptation has the status (Pending) – Fall 2022. Whether the production could debut in cinemas, on streaming platforms or on media has not yet been determined.
Stephen King’s official website describes the original story as follows: Burt and Vicky travel through Nebraska on their way to California on a vacation to save their crumbling marriage. After being involved in an accident in which they run over a young boy who ran onto the road, they take the body to Gaitlin, a small, isolated community nearby. The plot focuses on their encounters with strange townspeople and a creature they call “He Who Walks Behind the Rows”.

After completing the remake, producer Lucas Foster shared with Variety that this version of the story had almost nothing to do with the 1984 adaptation.
We went back to [King’s] story and started acting freely from there – explained the filmmaker.
