Resident Evil 4 – new trailer revealed before DLC release

Today, Capcom released a new trailer for Resident Evil 4: Separate Ways, a DLC title. Following a number of leaks and rumors, Capcom officially unveiled the official expansion last week during the PlayStation panel.

Now, just a few days before the expansion arrives, the company has given fans another look at what they can expect from the revamped version of RE4’s campaign . The two-minute Separate Ways launch trailer  shows both the plot and new gameplay mechanics that the expansion will include.

While those who have played the original  RE4  may already be familiar with  Separate Ways , the new trailer shows us a variety of iconic scenes and locations. However, considering that this is a remake, it seems that Capcom has introduced a number of new elements to the game this time. In particular, beloved series antagonist Albert Wesker appears to have a much larger role in Separate Ways , given his appearance at the end of the trailer.

When can we expect the DLC to be released?

As we mentioned earlier, Separate Ways will be released in just a few days, on September 21st on PlayStation, Xbox and PC. The DLC itself will be sold for just $9.99, which isn’t too steep a price. For those who don’t want to spend any money, Capcom will be releasing a new free update for RE4 this week   , which will add Ada Wong and Albert Wesker as new playable characters in The Mercenaries game mode.

To learn more about this DLC and the free update, check out the official description of everything coming soon to  Resident Evil 4 from Capcom below :

Separate  Ways shows us another side of the story, following Ada Wong on a secret mission that reunites the agent with Leon S. Kennedy as they search for the president’s missing daughter. With the release of Separate Ways,  there will be a free update for  The Mercenaries available on the same day, introducing Ada Wong and her notorious employer Albert Wesker as playable characters in the popular bonus mode.

In  Separate Ways, Ada Wong travels to a lonely and rural part of Europe to infiltrate a village controlled by a religious group known as Los Iluminados. On Albert Wesker’s orders, the agent is tasked with obtaining the cult’s darkest secret: a mysterious material called “Amber”. Her operation is interwoven with Leon S. Kennedy’s search for the president’s missing daughter, providing an alternative perspective on the main plot that reveals to players the events taking place behind the scenes.

In addition to the highly acclaimed shooting and knife fighting mechanics,  Separate Ways introduces an additional gameplay feature that takes the fast-paced action to a new and exciting level. For this dark mission, Ada is armed with a grapple gun that we’ll use to jump over gaps, climb quickly, and dive into the depths. We can also use this device in combat to take on enemies in close quarters and perform ranged kills.
