F.E.A.R.
When Monolith Studios introduced us to Alma for the first time in 2005, there was a real breakthrough in enemy AI in FPS. In contrast to the so far eagerly running into the barrels of enemy units, in FEAR the adversaries reacted to our actions by flanking, throwing away grenades or effectively forcing us to leave the hideout. But this was not the only advantage of this unusual combination of an action game with an Asian horror film – apart from intense fire exchanges, for dessert, we also had a dense, disturbing atmosphere with a hellishly spooky girl in the background, a nice plot and a sensational audiovisual setting. So much the worse for the future series that after the groundbreaking one, there was a confusion with the license, which ended with a sequel that ignored its story extensions (but still a very good one), and the three handed over to another team of developers were just a washout after an atmospheric shooter from the first decade of the 21st century. Would we like FEAR he came back in glory, raising our pressure again, instead of playing in a coop that matches him like a fist to the nose? Definitely yes!
