However, a comic based on the novel by Stanisław Lem, The Invincible , will be published later than planned. The printing house is at fault.
The comic adaptation of the prose of the Polish science fiction master was to be released on Lem’s birthday – September 12. Unfortunately, despite the earlier presentation of proofs, the entire edition of the graphic novel was printed with a wrong color profile. Therefore, a decision was made to file a complaint and reprint all copies.
If [incorrectly printed – ed. DL] the comic went into the hands of people who have already purchased it (presale has already started), negative comments would fall. We put too much work into this project to expose ourselves to this situation. It would be unfair to buyers and even to ourselves.
– writes Klaudyna Sułek from the Booka publishing house.
The reprinting and binding will take a minimum of 2-3 weeks. This means that readers will get to know it no earlier than in the first half of October. For this reason, the creators will not appear at the International Festival of Comics and Games in Łódź, where they were supposed to promote the Invincible .
Rafał Mikołajczyk’s comic book is a graphic adaptation of Stanisław Lem’s hard science fiction novel published in 1964. The title Invincible is an intergalactic cruiser sent to the planet Regis III with a mission to find the Condor – a mysteriously lost twin unit with whom contact was lost shortly after its landing on the planet.
