A lot of humor, expressive characters, magic and a little more humor is a recipe for a comic book by Johannes Schachmann. Life and Times . The following stories contained in this small volume can really make you laugh, and although these are not very sublime jokes, it is worth having a laugh at the title magician, his service and enemies.
Loosely related stories
The comic consists of ten stories. The shortest of them is only one frame, while the longest are several pages long. What they all have in common is the main character – the magician Johannes Schachmann – and his servants. The wizard is supported in his activities by the fairy Frumentina and a large group of dwarfs with Haroldson at the helm. Genghis Khan also lives with them in the castle, or at least his head is preserved in a large jar.
There are additions at the end of the volume. Among them, we can find some information about the history of the comic book. The authors also posted some sketches there. All of this together creates a neat whole and, although we cannot talk about particularly exclusive content here, the ending pleases the eye and sheds some light on the stories we read.
A dash that does not disturb
It is difficult to judge the line used by the creators of this comic. At first I wanted to say that the comic is visually unattractive, but after reading it I changed my mind. I cannot say that the individual frames were delightful, but it would be very harmful to say that they are bad. The dash used matches the content. The simplifications and caricatured way of drawing some characters perfectly reflect the spirit of this position. I can imagine the same story drawn to my taste perfectly. I can imagine each frame as a small work of art worth a place in a museum. Then, however, Johannes Schachmann. Life and times would lose something.
While reading, we quickly stop paying attention to the line. The shortcomings disappear somewhere and fit into the story being told – because it is the most important thing here. So, although the graphic side does not impress, it also does not interfere with reading, and because it does not stand out to the fore, it allows the reader to enjoy what is more important in this story – jokes.
Humor, humor and humor again
Johannes Schachmann. Życie i czasy błyskawicznie urzeka poczuciem humoru. Wszystko to razem tworzy naprawdę dobrą i zabawną mieszankę.
Podsumowanie
Johannes Schachmann. Został stworzony, by bawić i to właśnie robi.
