What can we expect from Gen V ?
The Boys producer Seth Rogen has previously teased that the look and feel of Gen V will definitely be reminiscent of the show it’s based on.
There’s something really crazy about Gen V. The fact that they are in college and a little younger may be more shocking
Rogen said.
Generally speaking, if you make an R-rated movie, they let you do whatever you want unless there’s some really illegal thing you can trip over. For The Boys, maybe it takes one extra five-minute phone call where they say, “Really?” and you say, “Really.” There are other things you spend hours on the phone talking about that are much less interesting.
Rogen added.
The first trailer revealed that A-Train, played by Jessie T. Usher, will appear in the series, confirming previous suggestions from The Boys writer Eric Kripke, who was to neatly combine the worlds of The Boys and Gen V.
This is definitely a crossover, and we’re doing our best to design a universe where some of the issues and storylines from season three carry over into season one of Varsity. As if there was a presidential campaign going on in the background of that season, and there are certain things happening at that school that are a reaction to the third season of The Boys . There’s Soldier Boy and so on, but there are also some new stories going on that we need to take further and include in the fourth season of the show.
– said Kripke.
Who will we meet at our university for beginner superheroes?
Gen V is the first live-action spinoff of The Boys , the popular Prime Video productionbased on the Dynamite Comics series. The series is set at Godolkin University, which was originally a parody of Xavier’s School for Gifted Youngsters from Marvel’s X-Men comics. The series is described as “The Hunger Games” of college and the cutthroat world of young superheroes who try everything in their power to get into one of Vought’s super programs.
Former Marvel’s Agent Carter showrunners Michele Fazekas and Tara Butters will lead the new superhero series, which will be executive produced by The Boys showrunner Eric Kripke and Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg.
Jaz Sinclair, Chance Perdomo and Lizze Broadway will lead the brand new cast of Gen V , which will also feature characters from The Boys , including Jessie T. Usher as A-Train, Colby Minifie as Vought’s Ashley Barrett and PJ Byrne as director Adam Bourke.
The first three seasons of The Boys and its animated spinoff Diabolical are now available on Amazon Prime. The premiere of Gen V will take place on September 29 this year. We are looking forward to!
