Lex Luthor – Superman: The Red Son
Who can be the president? Almost everyone. In the US, these are often entrepreneurs. Speaking of businessmen, it’s about Trump. Oh sorry about Lex Luthor (aren’t they similar?).
He has served as president several times in the DC universe. But what I remember most is the story in which the President of the United States, Lex Luthor, was the only man opposing communist Superman.
Mark Millar’s Red Son is a fascinating look at the Cold War, combining Superman’s goodwill with Stalin’s totalitarianism. Once again, Luthor has proved to be the polar opposite, taking capitalism into account while embodying what Donald Trump is presenting today. It is not for me to judge the policy of the American leader, but his actions are similar to those presented by Luthor on the pages of the comic.
The increasing rivalry between Lex and Superman leads to a global war, but they still respect each other. They both pursue a policy that, from their perspective, is necessary and right, but excludes what the opponent is presenting. Luthor is not strong enough to fight Superman and Superman is not smart enough to argue with Luthor.
