Unsuccessful action
Three famous bounty hunters take part in a challenging mission led by hunter Nakano Lash. At some point, however, the commander kills the principal himself, and the heroes barely escape alive. Not knowing the reasons for Lash’s actions, the hunters have been seeking revenge on their former companion for years. When the trail of the former adventurer reappears in the Galaxy, Bossk, Boba Fett and Valance the cyborg follow in her footsteps. However, everyone acts on their own, which leads to an inevitable conflict.
Terminator in Star Wars ?
To my disappointment, it is not Jango Fett’s son in Mandalorian armor who plays the lead role here. Valance becomes the protagonist of the Most Dangerous in the Galaxy . Unfortunately, this is a hero that I have not met in a long time in Star Wars comics . This guy is really hard to like! By definition, the bounty hunter is thought to be taciturn, tough, unruffled. This image further confirmed Mando from the recent hit series The Mandalorian . Although his life mission was to help a defenseless child, this warrior still remained someone who could easily be subsumed under the classic pop-culture definition of a badass.. Cyborg Valance is quite different. Sloppy and emotional, it’s hard for me to see how such a hero made a career in the brutal world of bounty hunters. At the end of the comic, we even get a blueprint for building a hunter. But why does he need all these cybernetic enhancements when most of them don’t work? Example: Valance has lasers built into the hands. In the course of the comic, he tries to use them twice. Twice unsuccessfully … What’s more, seeing this character you cannot avoid association with the Terminator played by Arnold Schwarzenegger. Half of his face is human and the other half shows a robotic skull with a demonic red eye. As can be seen from the plot of the comic, he lost his face skin during an unsuccessful action many years ago. The scheme of the cyborg structure says that he cares about normal treatment, so he is covered with synthetic leather, which protects him from the fear of those around him. So why hadn’t he gotten his face cover fixed for so many years? I have not come across such an annoying and little logical character for a long time who simply does not fit the image of the bounty hunter. Knowing this environment from movies, series, novels and games aboutStar Wars , I’m sure Valance not only wouldn’t have made a career in it, but probably wouldn’t have survived a week either …
T’onga, focus!
The rest of the comic book characters do not improve the situation either, as it is difficult to find more logic in their behavior. An interesting trick is the theme of a hunter who had to leave her beloved in order to take part in the hunting campaign for the former client. The problem is, she can’t talk about anything other than her relationship. The heroine – a “professional” bounty hunter – even in a life-threatening situation says: “The woman of my life is waiting for me on the farm, and I am here with you!” The most natural issue, but repeated in almost every frame with the participation of T’Onga (because that is the name of this adventurer) begins to rub against a parody. The creators probably wanted to emphasize their tolerance and support for LGBT communities also in the Star Wars universe. However, does such frequent and grotesque emphasis on the protagonist’s orientation have the opposite effect to the intended one? Does he stop showing her as equal to others, but different, unable to separate her profession from her personal life? After all, no other hero says anything about his loved ones … It’s been a long time since I met such an irritating, forcefully drawn figure.
We want Fett!
Comic Pros? Boba Fett! My only regret is that it does not play a major role in history. Every frame involving this bounty hunter is truly masterful. From the most dangerous cards in the galaxyyou can almost feel the awe and awe of a hunter in Mandalorian armor. If only the creators decided to make it the main character of the story, the whole thing would surely gain a lot. Another advantage is the graphics, which, however, very much fall into the style of Japanese picture stories. I don’t quite like this style, reminiscent of manga stories, but surely a large group of readers will like this type of line. I would also like to praise the plot, but it is too chaotic. Spread over many timelines, it makes it virtually impossible to understand the course of events until the last page. It is a plus, however, that we are ultimately able to understand what the Bounty Hunters were actually about, so we don’t leave empty-handed.
We are waiting for improvement
I would like to give a much better rating, but unfortunately you are welcome. Bounty Hunters is a chaotic story so far, full of annoying characters. Even the main hunter, the cyborg, is very annoying with his actions. I expected more cruelty and ruthlessness from heroes from under the dark star, and we get sloppy adventurers and a hunter whose biggest concern is that her love of life awaits her. The beacon of hope in the comic is the character of Boba Fett, as always dark and deadly. It is a pity that there is so little of it. Remember, however, that the Most Dangerous in the Galaxy is only the first volume of the new publishing series, so we should not delete it just yet. We are waiting for the second volume keeping our fingers crossed.
