The latest news about the next Fable may disappoint fans a bit. Based on the latest report, the new part is lucky that it has been announced for Xbox Series X/S consoles. The point is that (at least for now) the game in this layout will definitely be released before the release of the next generation of consoles. If the Series X/S era lasts as long as the Xbox One, it’s for the new Fable perhaps we will wait until 2025-2027. The report shocked many fans of the series. The game was announced in the summer of 2020, which is more than two years ago. Moreover, the Xbox Series X/S had not yet been released. If Xbox players had been told then that they would have to wait until the end of the current generation for the premiere of the reboot, they would probably knock on their heads. Fate is fickle, however, and apparently it will.
The news comes from Andy Robinson of VGC, a very reliable gaming industry insider. According to Robinson, ‘ Fable could come out before the end of this generation’.
Robinson stressed that he hadn’t heard of a game engine change during development – which was also rumored – but expressed his belief that the game was “not coming out any time soon.”
Admittedly, the above narrative coincides with what we heard a few years ago. Not only did Playground Games have to hire more staff to develop the game (remember that it was previously a one-team studio devoted strictly to Forza Horizon games ), but also to do it in a market where employees are difficult and expensive, not to mention recruiting experienced developers.
