Book description
It used to be such a nice, quiet town. But that was before all the zombies showed up. When 12-year-old Mike and his friend Karen go to see a horror movie called “Zombie Town”, the last thing they expect is for the characters from the title to step off the screen and be chased through the cinema. And it’s not the popcorn these hungry creatures want to munch on – it’s human brains! Mike and Karen frantically try to escape through the foaming streets of their town before a band of zombies turns every citizen into a voracious scavenger. But if Mike thinks he’ll be safe when he gets home and warns Mom and Dad, he better think again. When the zombies say it’s dinner time, no house is safe! Zombie Townis RL Stine’s adorable and spooky vision of a horror genre that is infecting the world, bite after bite.
Although the film is aimed at the whole family, it feels more intense than Stine’s more youth-friendly projects, such as Goosebumps, for example .
Who will star in the movie?
The main young characters of the film are played by Marlon Kazadi and Madi Monroe. Henry Czerny from Mission: Impossible and Kids in the Hall stars Scott Thompson and Bruce McCulloch also appear in the film . While fans have been anticipating Dan Aykroyd and Chevy Chase’s on-screen reunion, based on the first trailer, it doesn’t appear they have any scenes together.
We are thrilled to be able to bring RL Stine’s novel Zombie Town to the screen, and equally thrilled to be working with such an exceptional cast and crew on this production. John Gillespie, founder and executive producer of Trimuse Entertainment, said in a statement about the film.
The premiere of Zombie Town is scheduled for September 1 in cinemas.
