Zack Snyder’s film, Rebel Moon , will get a video game. It looks like it will be more than just basic mobile gameplay. The film will be released on Netflix this winter.
Zack Snyder is a director known for his visual talent, amazing action sequences and sense of style. Some have noted (or criticized) that his films sometimes look like video games, due to his rather distinct directorial style. In the late 2000s, he even signed a deal with EA to help develop several games. Unfortunately, none of them ever entered into force.
However, Snyder has confirmed that he has developed a new video game based on his sci-fi film, Rebel Moon , which will be released on Netflix this winter. In a recent interview with The Nerd Queens, the director talked about how he is creating a new RPG set in the Rebel Moon universe. He described it as a “huge” and “immersive” experience. At the same time, he revealed that he always wanted to create such a game. While he didn’t say who was working on it or what platforms it would be available on, he said the scale was “ridiculous”. He didn’t give more details because he shouldn’t have mentioned it in the first place. He also briefly mentioned that he didn’t want to do something “casual”, but changed his mind halfway through the speech. It certainly doesn’t sound like a mobile game, but honestly, it’s hard to say what it will look like in the end.
Netflix also has its own games division, so it’s entirely possible that this is a game being developed for that platform. Perhaps this is something that would exist as a console and PC game. Either way, Snyder has made this distant project something to look out for.
Rebel Moon will debut on Netflix on December 22, 2023.
