2K has prepared a real surprise for players in the form of the new XCOM . This time, however, we are dealing with a side installment of the series.
2K and Firaxis unexpectedly announced the latest installment of the famous series of turn-based strategies. XCOM: Chimera Squad is coming to computers on April 24, next Friday. The key is the lack of a number in the title, because this time we are dealing with a spin off that mixes a bit in the formula developed. First of all, this time players will not create their own squad of soldiers, and will have eleven characters at their disposal, distinguished by their character and unique skills. Such a procedure is related to putting more emphasis on the presented plot so far.
As the head of the eponymous Chimera Squad, the player will have to defend City 31, which is a haven for people and strangers. The idyllic peace will be disturbed by “invisible forces”. The action was set five years after the events of XCOM 2 .
The fairly low price of the game, at PLN 89, is also noteworthy (until May 1, the title was discounted to only PLN 45). This suggests that Chimera Squad will be a less extensive production than the rest of the series.
