“Aquaman 2” with a mysterious new working title. Despite the fact that the plot is still unknown, we have our speculations about the villain of this part.
This year has been crazy because of the prevailing pandemic. Cinema premieres, cultural events, film productions have been postponed or simply canceled. A year after the chaos began, the film industry is slowly returning to normal. According to the Discussing Film report , the 2018 sequel to Aquaman will begin production in June this year in the UK. Its working title is Necrus . Earlier it was reported that the film was scheduled to go into production in early 2021. Dolph Lundgren, who plays King Xebel Nereus, admitted in early January that Aquaman 2 plans to start recording in early summer.
As for the working title, many movies have one that has little or no bearing on the project itself. In DC Comics, Necrus is just like Atlantis another domed underwater city. The difference is that Necrus only exists for very short periods and can never be found twice in the same place. Seemingly completely militaristic, it is dubbed the “Black City” and is ruled by the tyrant king Mongo. Necrus fought Atlantis in the comics. It is not known if this thread will have any impact on the events of Aquaman 2and whether Arthur’s main opponent in this part will be the tyrant Mongo. We cannot forget about the Black Manta (Yahya Abdul-Mateen II), the character who in the comics was Aquaman’s (Jason Momoa) main enemy. There is little information about the sequel at the moment. James Wan (movie director) revealed to fans at last year’s DC FanDome that Aquaman 2 would have “horror sensibilities”.
Aquaman 2 is currently scheduled to hit theaters on December 16, 2022.
