Based on the books by Robert Jordan, the Time Wheel series has quickly become one of the most popular streaming programs, and fans are already excited about the second season. Season two’s debut could potentially be influenced by the impending arrival of The Lord of the Rings .
Vernon Sanders, head of Global TV Amazon, recently spoke to TV Line about the success of the Wheel of Time and the future of fantasy projects on Amazon Prime. He admitted that The Wheel of Time is so popular that its release is carefully thought out, as are The Lord of the Rings and several other titles.
We will be really careful how we release these productions. We think these are very different series, but we’re aware of what our fans want and we’re excited about the titles we have – Carnival Row will be returning with The Expanse and The Boys . We also have a fantastic show called The Peripheral … We’re very excited about the future. This doesn’t mean that Season 2 of the Wheel of Time will be affected by the appearance of The Lord of the Rings in September 2022, but it could be. Amazon may want to spread out the shows a bit to maximize popularity and viewership. Amazon will do what’s best for both programs.
