Around the production of the Justice Leaguefrom 2017, there was a lot of controversy. Zack Snyder was supposed to direct the film at the time, but for personal reasons he could not finish the project. Work on it was taken over by Joss Whedon. The fans, however, did not like his vision, who demanded a directorial version under the slogan #releasethesnydercut. Their expectations were met, and the director’s version of the film is expected to hit the HBO Max platform in a year’s time. Although the entire production is almost finished, the prospect of returning to the vision of the original director entails the need to add some scenes. This, in turn, introduces many unknowns regarding the role of the cast in the nutshells. The original plan was for shots by Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck and Gal Gadot. It turns out, however, that it was most likely an exaggerated version.
The biggest unknown right now is Cavill, who originally portrayed the role of Superman. While working on Enola Holmes , in which he played Sherlock, he clearly and vehemently denied appearing in any additional Justice League shots . He then argued that his role did not require any bolts and would not appear in additional scenes. Although his words sounded firm, there are still many mysteries surrounding the production. It is not known if this is just a deception intended to surprise fans later, or if Henry Cavill is really not interested in returning to the role of Superman. Filming the scenes in the States would certainly be difficult given his current work on The Witcherin the UK. Especially during a pandemic that effectively hinders international travel. It looks like we will only find out after the premiere of the series.
The Justice League is expected to appear on HBO Max in 2021. It will consist of four episodes, each one hour long. The production budget at the moment has risen to $ 70 million.
