George RR Martin revealed what we can expect in the upcoming production.

Even before the end of the series “Game of Thrones”, a number of spin-offs have been planned to develop the universe and, in a way, continue the Song of Ice and Fire. Currently, work is underway on a prequel, the action of which will take place thousands of years before the events known to viewers from the series. Although many are not flattering about the last, eighth season of the series, most certainly will return to the beloved world created by Martin.

In an interview with EW, the author confirmed that not only the Starks, but also the direwolves will return in the upcoming prequel.

Of course the Starks will show up. You will also see the White Walkers, or as I call them in the books, the Others. There are also direwolves and mammoths.

As the Stark lineage is descended from the First People, it is logical that their members existed at the time the prequel will show. But we won’t see every big house that has appeared in Game of Thrones, at least not in the beginning. These are, for example, the Lannisters.

The Lannister family is not in the prequel yet, but Castlery Rock does exist; it is like the Rock of Gibraltar. It is occupied by the Casterly family, from which it takes its name, and which survived until the times of “Game of Thrones”.

The title of the production is also not known yet, however it is possible that Martin revealed it in the same interview. In previous interviews, the author titled the prequel “Long Night” and mentioned that it would be his preferred title. It turns out to be very likely that his version will become the official one.

I’ve heard a suggestion that the prequel might be titled “The Longest Night”. “The Longest Night”], which would not bother me at all. It could be a pretty good title.

Although the release date has not been confirmed, a prequel starring Naomi Watts can be expected in 2020.
