Fans who follow the progress of Wicked found some shots from the set and decided to share on twitter the ones that show Ariana Grande as Glinda.
Wicked is the long-awaited film adaptation of the hit musical that delighted fans of The Wizard of Oz and made Idina Menzel and Kristin Chenoweth a household name. The story centers on the relationship between Elphaba, a green-skinned witch who viewers know is destined to become the Wicked Witch of the West, and her sister Glinda, a good witch.
The story, based on Gregory Maguire’s novel Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West , questioned the nature of Glinda and Elphaba as representing pure good and evil. The musical , which first debuted on Broadway in 2003, has become an integral part of musical theatre, eventually grossing over $1 billion in total Broadway revenue in 2016. At least two new songs are expected to feature in the film.
Last year, director Jon Chu shared the news on social media that the film would be split into two parts.
