Who will remember the names of princesses and fairies faster – a review of the game “Dobble Disney Princess”

The Dobble Disney Princess set is a very aesthetic publication that will surely catch the eye of both young fans of Disney productions and players who prefer nicely released games. The metal can is also used as packaging and a perfect place to store the cards played during the session. We have 55 cards at our disposal, on which more than 50 symbols more or less known from the animation of the popular corporation are embedded. The arts used are mostly refreshed versions of characters (e.g. Rapunzel, Mushu or Cinderella) and gadgets (e.g. Mulan’s fan, Aladdin’s magic carpet, etc.). The list of characters used on the cards, along with the signature, was also included by the publisher in the instructions, which – as it turned out during the game – was an incredibly good idea.

Which version of the game will you choose today?

The basic game of Dobble involves looking for a copy of one of the patterns on the card in the middle (in front of all players) on your card and getting rid of it as quickly as possible. Whoever empties his hand first wins. It is therefore a game of both reflexes and perceptiveness, because sometimes a few seconds of delay in relation to rivals are enough to change the situation on the table dramatically. Much to my surprise for a Disney Princess releasehowever, the developers added more gameplay options. The small instruction manual has written five types of games with this deck. Without going into detailed descriptions – you can cover cards, collect them or get rid of them in several versions of actions. Of course, each mini-game involves searching for identical patterns, so the pace of action is intense every time and the competition is high.

Funny memory exercise

As I mentioned at the beginning – this particular version of Dobble turned out to be quite funny due to the characters chosen for the cards. Because if you have problems with remembering names or you are not crazy Disney fans, it may turn out that you have found an identical pattern, but … you do not know what to call out. Such situations are accompanied by a lot of laughter, especially when a person forgets both the name Płomyk and the noun candlestick. Descriptive calls like: it’s probably tips with the sun (instead of a lantern) or a fat mouse / skinny mouse (Kajtek / Jacek) or an angry blue fairy (Pogódka) are just a few of the funnier examples that may appear.

Fun for kids and adults

Dobble and Disney are the perfect combination. The game is suitable for a family afternoon or a meeting with friends. Nicely released, funny at times, intense in gameplay and perfectly replayable, it is a title worth having at home. Although the publisher suggests that the publication is suitable from the age of 4, you can safely introduce it earlier – I checked it on my private three-year-old.
