Guesses about new faces in the second season of “The Witcher” have been going on for some time. It is already known that Carmel Laniado and Kristofer Hivju will appear in the series. However, it is still unknown who could play Vesemir, but according to the latest reports, Netflix is targeting top-shelf names.
Practically since The Witcher was announced, one of the characters that fans want to see on the screen is Geralt’s mentor – Vesemir. There were a few speculations, but as you know, the character has not yet made his debut. This is set to change in season two, and according to information gathered by Daniel Richtman, the role has been offered to two famous actors – Michael Keaton and Mads Mikkelsen . However, both rejected the offer for undisclosed reasons.
So who will play the old monster hunter? It has long been known that one of the favorites among fans is Mark Hamill. Although the performer of the roles, incl. Luke Skywalker and Joker as he admitted he has no idea who Vesemir is, he has never rejected the possibility of playing him. One thing is for sure – after the success of the first season of The Witcher , Netflix will definitely want to add another famous name to the cast of the next series. So far, the most recognizable actor in the series is, of course, Geralt’s impersonator – Henry Cavill.
Vesemir will definitely appear in another Netflix production. In January it was announced that he would get his own animated film entitled The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf .
