Who remembers a fantasy novel written by a horror master 33 years ago? The eyes of the dragon and this is a fairy tale somewhat unusual for King. Set in the quasi-medieval kingdom of Delain, it tells the story of the evil wizard Flagg, known from the Dark Tower. Well, things are not going well in the kingdom. The king is weak and allows himself to be controlled. Rightful heir – Peter is strong, but Thomas’s second son is similar to his father. Flagg, of course, wants to take over and (for some reason) cause chaos in Delain. He throws Peter into jail, and he takes charge of what they say in the back seat, driving Thomas.
Producer Seth Grahame-Smith said last year he was
very excited to work on Stephen King’s world in Hulu which has had a great track record of adaptation work.
He expressed the hope that Sam Rockwell will play one of the main roles.
Unfortunately, it just turned out that Hulu abandoned this project for reasons including financial as well as misunderstandings among management staff. A certain consolation for the disappointed fans may be the fact that the series will find a home on another website, although we do not know any details yet.
Over the years, countless adaptations of King’s novels have been created. In recent years, several of them have also been targeted by filmmakers. The movie This from 2017 had good reviews , while Pet Smętarz (2019) was a financial success, although the reviews were mixed, and the horror film In Tall Grass (2019) did not impress critics either. Will the Eye of the Dragon project be completed and with what result?
