Netflix has announced the start of work on the 8-episode series Wednesday , starring Wednesday Addams. The heroine lives in a boarding school and experiences a number of extraordinary adventures. The director of the new production is Tim Burton, a master of horror and comedy, and the script is written by Al Gough and Miles Millar, creators of the Smallville series .
According to the Deadline portal, the series focuses on the school period of the title character. The acting series is a combination of crime fiction, comedy, horror and teen drama. During the years at Nevermore Academy Wednesday, Addams faces the challenge of mastering her skills, she must stop a series of murders terrorizing a nearby town and solve a supernatural mystery that her parents also faced at one time.
The last time we saw the adventures of the Addams family on the small screen was 30 years ago! Burton had plans to create a similar series, but the project did not work out. The director, however, did not give up his plans and soon the viewers will follow the adventures of an extraordinary family. For Burton, this is another approach to production on the border of horror and comedy. The director has productions such as Edward Scissorhands , Headless Horseman , Corpse Bride and Sweeney Todd: Demonic Barber from Fleet Street . Wednesday will be his first series.
