Countless and diverse worlds
The Silver Surfer is peacefully surfing the universe until he stumbles upon Impericon’s envoys! It turns out that billions of beings inhabiting this planet need a hero to save them from the Queen of Never. The distrustful Zed, the leader of this world, in order to motivate the superhero, kidnaps the person closest to him, Earthling Dawn Greenwood. Silver Surfer, convinced that one of the most important women in his life has been abducted, is shocked when it turns out that she is a complete stranger! And in this unexpected way, the fate of two seemingly completely different beings connected to such an extent that they embarked on a journey through the endless universe together. During this journey, they had to face Nightmar haunting the Earth, or taste the best ice cream on the Primasort planet! Of course, Silver Surfer’s dark past eventually came to light, and under extremely dramatic circumstances. For it turned out that Galactus himself was following in the footsteps of his former herald!
Silver Surfer vol. 1 is almost four hundred pages long, so it should come as no surprise that so much happens in the pages of this sizeable comic book!
Silver surfer with a girl
Silver Surfer captivates above all with its gigantic diversity. Together with the Guardian of Cosmic Trails and his companion, we travel across the universe and discover amazing worlds. Even a simple ice cream outing turned out to be a surprise, as Mrs. Greenwood had won her first nemesis! The planet Primasort itself presents a community so focused on perfection that it is both terrifying and funny at the same time! I didn’t expect the Silver Surfer comic book to be able to make me laugh at all. There’s a lot to be said for the characters as well. I especially liked the variously represented alien races. For example, a green snot named Plorp is suffering because he loves fruits from the planet Vege, to which he unfortunately reacts with “hyperreflux”. As for the protagonists, it’s also impossible not to like them. They make an interesting couple. There is a feeling between them, but on the other hand, a lot of things separate them. After reading the description, I was genuinely intrigued by this item and in no way was I disappointed. Instead of a typical superhero story, we participate in a cosmic journey through space and time. It should be mentioned that there were a few minor ambiguities, e.g. when Dawn went to prison, one of the inmates informs her that it is the walls of the boxes that allow them to understand their native languages (for example, Plorp, like Groot, only says one word, which hides many meanings). The only question is why, after leaving the cells, they continued to talk to each other without the help of any translator? Nevertheless, such trifles do not take away from the pleasure of reading. Stunning silver
The graphic design impresses from the very first frames. I liked e.g. planet designs. The huge Impericon amazes with its unusual diversity and colorful structures. It’s basically a city-planet! I could also admire other worlds or characters, but above all I would like to mention an extremely interesting procedure. Namely, in the later part you have to turn the book upside down! Of course, at first you can get lost, but this idea is simply great and perfectly illustrates the trouble the heroes got into! I have no objections to the release. At the end, two funny alternate covers and a sketch of the character were thrown in. Even though it’s not much, it’s always a nice addition.
Is it worth jumping on a board with Silver Surfer?
Some time ago I had the pleasure of reviewing a comic book titled Silver Surfer. Black . Even then, the character of the Silver Surfer intrigued me. So I couldn’t pass by the first volume about the adventures of the former herald Galactus. I didn’t expect to like this story so much! Several different adventures in different parts of the universe, and a very colorful cast of heroes! This is an amazing adventure that will delight not only Silver Surfer fans. The first volume does not end with any cliffhanger , in fact almost all threads have been closed, although I will be waiting impatiently for the next volume!
