We play with colors – review of the board game “Kezao”

The reviewed proposal of the Nasza Księgarnia publishing house – Kezao – is another small-large card game by Pierre Bellet and Aurélien Jeanney (illustrations). About the game and its rules

Preparation for the game is very simple – all the color cards are shuffled and given to each player – 7 cards are for one person. We hold them in such a way as not to reveal the pictures on the cards to our rivals (the cards remain in one hand, and we put them on the table with the other hand). Make a pile from the rest and put it on the side. Moreover, we put the 15 point cards aside and put four dice in the middle of the table. The object of the game is to throw the dice and then lay out the appropriate color cards as quickly as possible. The game participant who plays his last card scores 1 point. On the other hand, the one who gets only 3 points wins. The average game time is 15 minutes, and the possible number of players is 2 to 7.

Gameplay for the youngest and the oldest

We must be extremely careful during the game. Be careful what you put on the table… If we make a mistake, we must be punished. The wrongly played cards are returned to the player who cannot play any other cards in this turn. In addition, there are jokers in the Kezao – 2 special cards. They are easy to locate as they represent the quetzal bird of paradise. These cards are undoubtedly unique – they can be used regardless of the colors on the dice.

The creators of the game have also planned a variant for the youngest – when playing with children, it is recommended to use only one dice per round. Kezao is great fun that connects generations. It can be played by the youngest with their parents and grandparents, as well as siblings, cousins, acquaintances, friends …

Quality, not quantity

The game is completed in a small, square box, similar to the others in the series. The execution of the elements is at the highest level and will surely appeal to all players. Even though they are only cards and dice, they deserve attention. The creators assure that it is a “crazy party game”. I doubt it’s as crazy as they promise, but it’s worth a try!

In addition, in the box you will find a card-sticker on which you can write your name, surname or nickname and thus mark that you are the owner of the Kezao (thanks to this simple procedure, the cube will not be lost for you!).
