The Masters of the Universe live action movie is hitting Netflix and Kyle Allen ( West Side Story ) is set to appear in the movie as He-Man! The Nee brothers will be responsible for directing, and the screenwriter will be David Callaham, who created, among others Shang-Chi and the legend of ten circles . The production is to be based on the animated series and the Mattel toy line, and focus on the war between He-Man (alter ego of Prince Adam of Eternia) and Skeleton.
The film about the adventures of He-Man was made as early as 1987. At that time, Dolph Lundgren as He-Man and Frank Langella as Skeleton played the lead roles. The production turned out to be a disappointment, however, and over the years Mattel tried unsuccessfully to make another high-budget film, occasionally reverting to animated form to refresh the brand.
Initially, Noah Centineo was to play the new He-Man, and Sony began working on it. The Nee Brothers were also supposed to direct that version, but it didn’t come to fruition. In April, Centineo quit the role and the project was shelved. Now fans are wondering if it will not be the same this time. Well, we’ll find out soon!
