At Disney’s quarterly earnings meeting, company president Bob Chapek confirmed that the Obi-Wan Kenobi series premiere on May 25 this year. Earlier rumors suggested the date of May 4th, which is World Star Wars Day. Ultimately, however, it was decided to go on the same day as the debut of the first film starting an epic stellar saga in 1977. Additionally, a new production poster was also presented.
The action of the series takes place 10 years after the events of Revenge of the Sith . We will follow the actions of the title Jedi master during his stay on Tatooine. According to the latest reports, an important part of the plot will be flashbacks to the times before Anakin Skywalker turned to the dark side of the force.
Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi will see Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen return to the roles of Obi-Wan and Anakin / Darth Vader. In addition to them, the series will also feature Kumail Nanjiani, Sung Kang, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Moses Ingram, Indira Varma, Rupert Friend, Simone Kessell, Benny Safdie, Joel Edgerton and Bonnie Piesse. The production is directed by Debora Chow and the script is written by Joby Harold.
