The announcement didn’t come with the reveal of any new information about the upcoming season, but knowing that the vampire’s hilarious antics will be back in two months is all fans need. Season 5’s release date is almost exactly one year after Season 4 premiered , which ended last September. What We Do in the Shadows will premiere on FX on July 13, with episodes coming to Hulu the following day.
Based on the feature film by Jemaine Clement and Taika Waititi, What We Do in the Shadows documents the nightly exploits of vampire roommates Nandor (Kayvan Novak), Laszlo (Matt Berry), Nadja (Natasia Demetriou) and Colin Robinson (Mark Proksch) . They roam the modern world of Staten Island with their manservant Guillermo (Harvey Guillén).
In earlier seasons of the show, many comparisons were made between the TV show and the original 2014 movie that featured the same characters. Over the years, the series continues to add exciting episodes featuring your favorite comedy characters. We don’t quite know what to expect in Season 5 yet, but Waititi has previously dismissed the idea that his character from the original film would ever reappear on the TV show.
