We know the opening date of Studio Ghibli Amusement Park!

Studio Ghibli is a film company that needs no special introduction. Over the years, they have released some of the best anime in movie history, and director Hayao Miyazaki is still working on more. Now they are going to open their own Amusement Park in Japan!

Information about the opening of the Amusement Park was provided by Toshio Suzuki, executive producer and co-founder of Studio Ghibli. The announcement was posted on social media and it was confirmed that Ghibli Park will be available to tourists from November 1st! An official website has also been launched for visitors, with a special preview of Ghibli Park. There you can see which areas of the amusement park will be open this fall. And they will be: Dondoko Forest, Giant Ghibli Warehouse and Hill of the Youth. The website confirms that areas like Mononoke Village and Witch Valley will open in 2023.

Fans will be able to see all kinds of nods to Studio Ghibli’s best films. For example, the Dondoko Forest area will recreate parts of My Neighbor Totoro and even feature a 17-foot statue depicting the main character. As for the Hill of the Youth area, tourists will find references to Laputa – Sky Castle as well as Earbud and Witch . Fans hope there are more areas to emerge in the coming years as all of Miyazaki’s films deserve the tribute. Many people already dream of visiting the bathhouse known from Spirited Away: In the land of the gods .

There is currently no information as to how visitors will book tickets or how much they will cost. However, Studio Ghibli has high hopes for the park. The project management expects more than 1.8 million visitors a year!
