Another Predator movie is coming ! The fifth installment will take the events back in time and show the Predator’s first journey to Earth, but it will carry a completely different title than the previous installments. We also got to know more details about the production.
And this is thanks to the interview conducted by Collider with John Davis and John Fox working on the newest Predator or Skull , because that’s what the production will be called. It will tell about the origins of Predator, and its director is Dan Trachtenberg ( Cloverfield Lane 10 , Portal: No Escape ):
Dan is a genius director, watching his works you just understand that his vision is completely unique. It has its own language and is fresh, cool and interesting.
In the mentioned conversation, the creators revealed a few novelties. The first is the main character of the film – it will be a woman with an unspecified name and origin. Davis and Fox find it particularly interesting, recalling Alien vs. Predator and Sana Lathan’s performance in the lead role. Especially since the title will focus on the beginnings of Predator, his first journey to the planet. By the way, it will return to “what made the original Predator so successful.”
The duo also revealed that Skull is in the early, roughly one-third of the way filming, and will likely be rated as an R or PG13 movie, though they aren’t sure yet. They already compare it more to The Phantom of 2015 than any Predator title, but it is unclear what this similarity would exactly be. We are only supposed to find out when we see him.
