Attractions available
As expected, the event attracted quite a large number of interested people. Already before entering the Power Plant, it was easy to come across cosplayers taking the opportunity to present their unusual stylizations. No wonder – according to the announcement, various attractions were to be waiting for the participants: from gadgets available for purchase, through board games, to testing the latest gaming equipment. Retro gaming and VR stands could not be missing.
Although in fact all these points were available during the fair, there is no denying that the event left some unsatisfied. The stands, concentrated on only part of the two levels of the building, mostly offered gadgets rather than being active attractions that engaged the participants. A definite plus, however, were the previously mentioned stations, where players could immerse themselves in virtual reality or play old games on available consoles. These two experiences received considerable attention throughout the duration of the fair. There were also promised professional gaming stations, where participants could try out the latest equipment.
The icing on the cake: gadgets!
What else caught the eye while visiting the fair is the definite advantage of anime. Most of the stalls offered gadgets exclusively or mainly referring to Japanese productions, and it was quite difficult to find something related to video games or popular films and series. Of course, this is not a bad thing, but people who are not familiar with the animated world could enjoy much less content during the fair. The biggest attraction was the so-called “mystery boxes”. Here everyone could find something for themselves. The packages, whose prices started from PLN 50, included gadgets related to productions such as Harry Potter, Star Wars, The Witcher, Overwatch , etc.
The greatest advantage of the event was, of course, the people who created it. Browsing through the offer of the stands, I had the opportunity to exchange a few words with the people responsible for them, and each of these conversations was an extremely nice experience. Without exception, they were full of openness and kindness, accompanied by a great passion for magical worlds. Not to mention the offer of these stands – from beautiful, handmade jewelry to convention must-haves, i.e. coasters, stickers and pins with images of your favorite heroes. Readers were also not left out: at one of the stands you could get various items from both the world of literature and comics. I hope that the Fair will return to Elektrownia Powiśle with new, interesting attractions for the participants.
