Warner Bros. abandons plans to continue the Harry Potter movies?

Some time ago, the CEO of Warner Bros. (David Zaslav) spoke about his openness to new productions in this series. JK Rowling herself also showed interest in the subject. However, we probably wouldn’t see the original actors in them.

No wonder Warner Bros. constantly making plans for the continuation of films about an unusual boy. The whole saga has so far enjoyed great interest among viewers, which influences the creation of subsequent prequels or documentaries. They are more and less successful.

The idea of adapting the play Harry Potter and the Cursed Child was received with little enthusiasm. The author of the books, together with the producers (Sonia Friedman and Colin Callender), feared that the show would cease to be successful. Some members of the Warner Bros. crew were also opposed. They felt that this would confirm the failure of the Fantastic Beasts series. However, as the years pass, JK Rowling becomes more and more convinced of this idea.

Radcliffe and Watson refuse?

The  Cursed Child takes place 20 years after the last  Harry Potter installment . The adult performers of the original roles would probably play supporting roles, but they are very skeptical about it.

The Star Wars  guys   were like 30, 40 years old before they came back. It’s only been 10 for me. It’s not something I’m really interested in right now. – said Daniel Radcliffe in an interview with  The New York Times

However, the actor does not claim that it will never happen. The bigger problem might be with Emma Watson. The woman has repeatedly participated in public disputes with JK Rowling and probably would not like to cooperate again. The transphobic rhetoric on Twitter by the author of the books greatly alienated the actress.

The magical world of Hogwarts will probably have to wait. Do you hope that the production will come to fruition? Let me know in the comment!
