“War is coming!” – review of the book “Aru Shah and the Tree of Wish”

It’s time for another book in the series Rick Riordan presents . Today it’s time to look at the third part of Aru’s adventures.

Tension in the Other World

Due to the impending war with demons in the Other World, there is a state of high alert. Aru Shah and his friends are given the task of saving two people. One of them knows the prophecy, and the words it contains may decide about victory or defeat in the coming conflict. Unfortunately, its content cannot be kept secret and it becomes known to the Sleeper, the enemy of our heroes. The teachers of the young heroes require the Aru team to stop working against him for a while. However, the fourteen-year-old has other plans. In an effort to restore the Pandavas’ good name, Aru plans to find the Kalpawriksha tree of wishes emerging from the Ocean of Milk. If we manage to reach him before the Sleeper and make one wish, perhaps the fate of the whole world will be changed.

High expectations

After reading the previous part of Aru’s adventures, I was delighted, as were the other books signed by Rick Riordan. I must admit right away that the author did not disappoint me. The heroes have to face great dangers and not everything goes according to their plan. We cannot forget that they are also teenagers with their own problems and this makes them even more credible. While the book deals with serious topics, it is by no means overwhelming. It is pleasant to observe in-depth creations of already known characters throughout the following parts of the cycle. New heroes also appear, giving the novel a lot of variety.

Once again, there is also a lot of humor and references to pop culture. They allow you to take a break from more serious issues and rushing action. Despite the fact that the plot itself does not offer anything revealing, the author is able to draw the reader into the world she has created from the very beginning. After the tome is finished, you immediately want to start the next one. Don’t be put off by the fact that this is a book with teenage heroes. People of all ages will be able to find something for themselves here.

Summary

It should no longer surprise me that the series of books published under the name of Rick Riordan presents can hit my taste. Aru Shah and the Tree of Wish turned out to be a great continuation of the cycle in the world of Hindu mythology. I look forward to the fourth part and how this story unfolds. I also recommend you to escape to the lands created in the imagination of Roshani Chokshi. You will not regret it.

Nasza ocena: 10/10

The third volume of the adventures of Aru and her friends is shrouded in mystery. I wonder how all of this will go on.
