Hasbro announced another crossover in its iconic card game. This time, the fans will find shapeshifting robots.

Cards from Transformers will be released as part of the Brother’s War set . There will be fifteen double-sided cards in total. One side shows the form of a robot, and the other side shows the vehicle into which it transforms. The cards will be in two versions of the frame – regular and Shattered Glass. In the latter, the roles of the Autobots and Decepticons will be reversed. This is a reference to the universe of the same name, where Optimus Prime and his companions are antagonists. The cards will be produced by the legendary Wizards of the Coast.

For legal and licensing reasons, Transformers will not use the transformation mechanics. Instead, they will receive two new ones – More Than Meets the Eye and Living Metal. The first will allow you to play a card in the form of a vehicle with mana, and the second will specify that a character in this form is still counted as a creature.

Transformers will be part of the ongoing Magic: The Gathering line known as Universes Beyond. It includes various crossovers with other universes not normally part of MTG. Part of this lineup is the Dungeons & Dragons set released last year , and there are also those from Warhammer 40,000 and Fortnite on the horizon .
