Due to the coronavirus, the film industry in the world will largely come to a standstill. The exceptions are animations that the creators can work on remotely. This is what it should be like with the new production set in the Transformers world.
According to the latest reports, work on the new animated film Transformers has already started. Paramount has chosen Josh Cooley to direct this picture. It was he who directed the fourth part of Toy Story, which won the Academy Award for Best Animation . This picture was also his directorial debut. However, this wasn’t the first Pixar movie he had worked on. Previously, he created storyboards for such titles as Cars , Cars 2 , Ratatuj , Odlot and Iniemamocni .
As for the production itself, it is referred to as a prequel. This can be quite confusing as the movie will not be related to the universe created by Michael Bay. The action is to take place on the planet Cybertron, the home world of the Autobots and Decepticons. The plot will certainly focus on the conflict between two factions of machines. Andrew Barrer and Gabriel Ferrari ( Ant-Man and the Wasp ) wrote the screenplay for this picture .
Earlier reports indicated that Paramount was preparing to shoot two Transformer movies. One of them was to be a continuation of the spinoff of the main acting series – Bumblebee . Rumors said that the second one would be a reboot of the series modeled on the Beast Wars series . It is not known if Cooley’s animation is this film.
