TOP 5: The most interesting versions of Monopoly

There are so many versions of Monopoly that choosing the one – the best – borders on a miracle. Although the game is mechanically very simple and has its age, it still enjoys great popularity, and its subsequent editions are flooding the shelves of shops. All the board versions are more or less the same, but some introduce, in addition to thematically adapted graphics, additional rules. We encourage you to familiarize yourself with the most interesting versions of this cult game!

Monopoly Deal

Monopoly DealMonopoly is a business based on serving the same dish only decorated in a different way, unfortunately it does not change its bland taste. However, among the multitude of identical creations, you can find something more interesting, namely the card version, the Monopoly Deal . Not only can the game end quite quickly (20 minutes vs a few hours / days / weeks – delete as appropriate), it is not the dice that will decide the defeat here, but the players. In Monopoly Dealthere are many different ways to make pigs, of which picking up money is just one of the many possibilities. It’s just a fun, fast, and malicious game. Of course, in this case you can choose any version of this card, for example PZPN, Disney. The subject does not contribute much to the game, but mechanically it is much more interesting than in ordinary Monopoly . – Hubert Heller

Monopoly: Star Wars

I must admit that I am a fan of the traditional version of Monopoly and I treat all the others as curiosities. But if I had to choose, among all the varieties my favorite is definitely Monopoly Star Warsby Hasbro, licensed by Lucasfilm Ltd. In this game, we travel through a distant galaxy to set up bases on planets known to us from the movies, such as Tatooine, Hoth or Dagobah. We can play the role of one of the heroes belonging to the Rebels or the Empire. When playing with several people, we divide into teams of the Light and Dark Side of the Force, which is an interesting diversion, because it allows us to operate in a cooperative mode. Additionally, fate and chance cards are suitable for one or the other team. They are marked by symbolic graphics with the Millennium Falcon and the Star Destroyer. When we take those belonging to the opposite group, there is a high risk that something bad will happen, and when we find ours, they become Power Cards that we can keep and use as an aid in the further game. We also receive a few of these special cards at the beginning of the game. In addition, an interesting option are the SuperTravel fields, which allow you to get to any free planet in a given zone or the next one, if all the bases have already been built in the current zone. The duel ends when there are no more free bases, which makes the game much faster than in the traditional oneMonopoly where it can go on for hours. The previously mentioned Power Cards also add dynamics, which can unexpectedly completely reverse the situation on the board. I definitely recommend this game to both co-op and Star Wars fans. – Aga Bot

Monopoly: World of Warcraft

Probably every fan of the most famous MMORPG in the world, i.e. World of Warcraft, loves collecting game-related gadgets. On their shelves you will find collectible boxes with CDs, figurines, mascots, flags, mugs and caps. Monopoly: World of Warcraft cannot be missed among these treasures .Almost everyone knows the rules of the original board game and also this time nothing changes in this regard. Except that the cities of earth were replaced with locations known from Azeroth. So you will find, among others Orgrimmar or Stormwind. The cards that have been prepared to look like quests and treasures placed in chests also deserve praise. The banknotes, in turn, bear the images of the most famous heroes of the series, headed by Thrall and Varian. What players will appreciate the most are the figures. Among them we have the image of Murloc or the stone known as Hearthstone. Everything was done to make the fans of the popular WoW satisfied and reach for this edition. And this art was successful. I personally love this edition and we are happy to come back to it with my friends. What about those of Warcraftnot particularly familiar? Well, for them it will be just another variation of Monopoly . – Piotr Markiewicz

Monopoly: Disney

There are several fairy-tale scenes and all of them are very colorful, and instead of cities, fairy tales are bought in them. Houses and hotels have been replaced by charming chalets and castles, while railways have been replaced by more interesting modes of transport – Cinderella’s carriage, Skinny’s mustang, Mater and Aladdin’s carpet. The figures represent fairy-tale characters, and the cards (Kasa Społeczna and Szansa) refer to well-known and liked titles. We can get money for singing “Hakuna matata” with Simba, lose money for soaking our clothes while looking for Nemo, or go to jail for stealing the Black Pearl. The new rule is an additional Tinkerbell figure that moves one space forward each time someone rolls a double. When we find a field that has already been purchased, the bank pays us the rent due, but if we meet her on an unoccupied fairy tale

Disney’s Monopoly may not be innovative in its family, but it is definitely worth attention, especially for Disney fans (that is me) and for younger players. The facilities that the fortune teller gives us allow us to save and even earn extra money, so it is more difficult to go bankrupt. Older children can play without an additional figurine and still enjoy the beautiful, colorful graphics. – Katarzyna Satława

Monopoly: Game of Thrones

Monopoly: Game of Thrones is a must-see for fans of the cult series. It is true that we will not find surprises in the rules or mechanics of the game, which is faithful to the basic version, but it is distinguished by atmospheric elements referring to the cult HBO series.

The phenomenal board shows us the well-known and liked lands of Westeros, which we can buy in the game as real estate. What in your opinion should be the cheapest? Of course, the coldest – Black Castle, and then the whole North. You start the game by selecting one of the extremely atmospheric and well-made metal pieces, such as: Direwolf, Dragon Egg, Three-Eyed Crow, Night King, Crown or Iron Throne.

On other properties, we can buy House cards and the Wall and Red Wasteland, build, like the Starks, new villages and fortresses (perfectly referring to the intro of the series), and we will pay for everything with a special currency – Golden Dragons. The game also includes the Iron Throne and Valar Morghulis cards with additional commands.

Monopoly: Game of Thrones is a well-made board game, and above all, a recipe for a great time in the atmosphere of our favorite series, especially in the period when our options for leaving home are very limited. I was passionate about the game, like Varys after meeting the dragon! – Mateusz Michałek
