Look here, look there, You don’t even know where to look yourself
The first thing that strikes you while reading this album is its strong irregularity. The secondary main plot based on the creation of virtual reality by Stark and his team (not looking far, DC reached for this idea some time ago in the Supergirl series) does not evoke too much emotions, and the collection of side stories makes it doubtful whether the writer has thought out globally what he wants. convey and emphasize (I particularly disliked the story behind Arnon Stark and his activities). There is too much and too much of it, which makes it impossible to get involved in any way.
So emm… thank you and goodbye
Tony presented in the first volume of the series from Marvel Freshis a slightly different character than the one I know from older comics or from a movie creation. He is a man who, on the one hand, still wants to develop technologies, on the other has time for romance and love, and on the other hand, he does not fully feel himself, so he struggles with personality problems. It is difficult to like this version of Stark, because it destroys previous ideas about this hero (unfortunately to the detriment of the man), and additionally it is terribly bipolar, which is simply tiring (somehow I could not convince myself of his romance with Wasp). Other characters are also not very interesting, for example Jocasta, a robotics ethic, irritates with sometimes too extreme reactions. Even an attempt to show her own identity problems does not convince her. Many times while reading, I had the impression that that the characters are introduced by force, and the story would be perfect without them. Stark’s biological mother or Tony’s brother promised to be interesting, but they also fell into a sack of unused potential and shallow descriptions. On the other hand, Rhodes from PTSD, which takes care of the replacement of the armor, only caused me disgust.
How to be bad correction course # 101
The opponents appearing in this album seem to have been selected blindly. Fin Fang Foom, The Controller or even the frustrated Jocasty guy is a set I don’t understand. Their motivations are sewn with thick threads, and the fights they serve are either average or so abstract (the dating app events were so silly that I kept patting my forehead while reading them) that you don’t know whether to laugh or cry. In addition, so much is happening on so many fronts that it is difficult to determine what we should focus on.
Nothing new
I was not convinced by this new Tony Stark or his adventures. The album is overwhelming with too many events, plots and characters, and at the same time does not seem to bring any particular freshness. The eye is pleased with the alternative covers and the spread with Iron Man armor, but the whole thing is not impressive.
