There has been long rumor about the possibility of the star of Smallville's Mysteries joining the cast of this year's Arrowverse crossover. Now it has become a fact.
Former showrunner of the Arrow series and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow , Marc Guggenheim has dropped a bombshell on fans. The filmmaker currently working on this year’s crossover – Crisis on Infinite Earths – has announced that “Clark Kent” impersonator in Smallville Mysteries , Tom Welling has joined the cast of the five-episode event from CW. The actor will play the role of the last son of Krypton again. It will be exactly the same version of the character as from the production about the origins of the superhero.
Thus, Welling became the third confirmed Superman to appear in the crossover. In addition to him, Tyler Hoechlin, who plays Kal-Ela in the Supergirl series, and Brandon Routh will also appear . The latter played another hero in Arrowverse – Atom – but before the series he played the main character in Superman: Return . This time around, Routh is going to appear like a version of a character inspired by the Kingdome come comics .
CW is preparing an event of great momentum for its viewers. The TV station attracts as many actors as possible related to productions based on DC comics. Confirmed cast members who do not play Arrowverse on a daily basis include Kevin Conroy (the voice of Batman in animations and games) as Bruce Wayne, and Burt Ward, who played Robin alongside Adam West in the 1960s. In addition to them, we will also see the main and some supporting characters from the Arrow , Flash , DC’s Legends of Tomorrow , Supergirl , and Back Lightning series. There are also rumors about the possibility of the appearance of other heroes and villains, but so far these are unconfirmed reports and fan theories.
Crisis on Infinite Earths will consist of five episodes spread across all series since CW. The event will start at the end of this year and will have its finale early next year.
