Known for his role as Spider-Man in The Avengers , Tom Holland seems to need an extended break from the set. The upcoming series In the Crowd apparently turned out to be too much pressure for the actor.
Tom Holland (an actor who will soon appear in the new series In the Crowd ) recently opened up about how much the role took a toll on his psyche. Recently, in an interview with Extra , he stated that due to this burden, he will take a break from acting.
It was a hard time. We were discovering particular emotions that I had never experienced before. Plus, being a producer and dealing with the day-to-day challenges on set adds pressure. I’m taking a gap year now, and the reason is how difficult the show was.
said Holland about the backstage of In The Crowd .
Additionally, Tom Holland also revealed that working on In the Crowd allowed him to take a step towards sobriety and greater awareness of mental health .
I am familiar with the physical aspects of working on a film set in general. But the mental aspect really got the best of me and it took me a long time to recover, to get back to reality somehow. I saw myself in it [Danny], my private life. I remember having a slight breakdown at home and thinking to myself, “I’m going to shave my head. I need to shave my head because I need to get rid of this character.” And, of course, we were in the middle of shooting, so I gave up… I’ve never experienced anything like this before.

The moment to decide on a break for Holland seems quite good. Recall that there has been a delay in Spider-Man 4 , and Marvel is trying to control the writers’ strike. It is even said that some Hollywood actors are planning to stand in solidarity with the strikers. Currently, the situation is not close to a resolution, so you can expect a lot of downtime at Marvel.
