The Tokyo Revengers franchise is doing great, especially since the debut of the anime adaptation, after which interest in comics grew to such an extent that tens of millions of copies were sold! The title is still not losing popularity, preparing not only a sequel for fans, but also a film that will be released in 2023.
The story of Ken Wakui hit the market in 2017 and tells the story of Takemichi Hangaki, a young man who suddenly travels back in time to his high school years to save his former sweetheart. In an attempt to change the past by preventing the gang responsible for the girl’s death from forming, Takemichi has to deal with many unexpected events.
Recently, the author mentioned that his manga had over 65 million copies in circulation, and that the second season of the anime is set to launch as early as next year.
Warner Bros. Japan has announced that Tokyo Revengers 2 , an action-packed film based on the series, will be released in Japanese theaters next year, continuing the epic story of time travel. You can see the trailer below :
