The first photo from the set of the new adaptation of Roald Dahl’s story has hit the network. It shows the main actor in a full costume.
The said photo was shared on Instagram by Timothee Chalamet. The actor wears a costume that is similar to what Gene Wilder wore at Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory . The post also includes a second photo showing an invention hidden in a character’s cane. You can see the whole thing below.
Wonka will be a prequel to the story from the book Charlie and the Chocolate Factory . The production will focus on the youth of the eccentric confectioner before he even gained worldwide fame. The movie is not related to previous screenings.
In addition to Chalamet, the cast also includes Olivia Colman, Rowan Atkinson, Sally Hawkins and Keegan Michael Key. The director of the picture is Paul King. David Heyman, Luke Kelly and Alexandra Derbyshire are producers.
Wonka is slated to hit theaters in March 2023.
