A brave bunch of friends returned to the screens. The heroes of the new series “ThunderCats Roar” discover the mysterious Third Earth, protect their heritage and enthusiastically grapple with everyday challenges. ThunderCats don’t forget to have fun too! The premiere episodes can be watched from May 4 on Cartoon Network.
The ThunderCats team was forced to flee their home planet Thundera and land on the mysterious Third Earth. Liono, the newly appointed leader of the cats, is doing her
best to fulfill her duties and support ThunderCats as they settle into the new land. He is accompanied by a brave group of friends: Tigra, Pantro, Cheetara, Wilikit, Wilikat and Snarf.
Every day the heroes discover their new neighborhood, solve complicated puzzles and help other creatures. Enemies often appear on their way, including the formidable and very clever Mumra.
It is not without reason that associations with the cult series from the 1980s may appear. “ThunderCats Roar” is a spin-off of that production created for young viewers.
– I hope that despite the changes we made, all the heroes still have a lot of what we loved them for in the 1980s. We kind of looked at some of the traits and elements from the previous version and looked for ways to enhance them . As a fan of “ThunderCats” I’m very excited about it! It seems to me that we are taking the characters into a “new dimension” and I hope that the viewers will appreciate these treatments – says one of the producers of the series, Victor Courtright. What will we see in the premiere episodes? The heroes of “ThunderCats Roar” are enthusiastic about discovering the Third Earth and meeting its diverse inhabitants. In one episode, a sad unicorn, all friends of which have been captured, comes to the ThunderCats headquarters. Experienced Tigra tries by all means to find out the details and to reassure his guest. However, the task turns out to be very difficult … In another episode, after a lively discussion about the duties of the leader, Liono loses the Sword of Destiny … Using a new invention, Pantro goes on a search with Snarf who helps him. Will he handle the challenge and retrieve the Sword?
The series is produced by Victor Courtright and Marly Halpern-Graser, and executive produced by Sam Register.
“ThunderCats Roar” aired Monday through Friday at 17:00 on the Cartoon Network channel.
