The new Gothic is officially being built. Demo available now!
THQ Nordic has just given fans of the Gothic series a real gift, announcing plans to restore the brand. As revealed, the Spanish branch of THQ is creating a remake of the first installment of the popular RPG! Moreover, the first effects are now available. The studio developed a two-hour prototype that was made available on Steam to all players with any Pirahna Bytes game in their library (yes, Arcania does not count).
The published demo clearly shows that the creators do not want to limit themselves to improving the graphics. The combat mechanics and, most importantly, the plot have also changed significantly. Interestingly, it is not certain that the new Gothic will be a remake. So far, only this prototype has been created. After the game ends, players receive a survey in which they can express their opinion whether they like the idea for a remake, or whether the new Gothic should be a continuation or something completely different. THQ ensures that the further fate of the brand will depend on the voice of the players.
